I have worked with Sun Microsystems for the past 20 plus years as a partner, a customer and a contractor, while I have been badged by Sun I have never been a Sun employee but I have always felt like I was a Sun employee. It has been hard to watch the demise of this company, particularly because of the many colleagues and friends I have worked with and have known at Sun, both currently and in the past. The purchase of Sun by Oracle is probably the best solution to Sun's many financial problems, but still, I am going to miss Sun Microsystems.
